5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive and pleasing, November 24, 2014
This review is from: Schwinn Mountain Bike Tire (Black, 26 x 1.95-Inch) (Sports)
Awesome product. Used on an inexpensive mountain bike that stays on the road 98% of the time. The almost continuous center line rolls quietly and only leaves a thin line on the ground after going through puddles. Sand and dirt only show up on the center line. I was amazed at how quiet the tire was when cornering on smooth concrete. It didn't make the buzzing sound of energy loss expected from knobby tires. Vibration from the tread was subtle and minimal. I had intended to convert the bike to smooth tires and only use stock knobby tires until they wore out, but took a chance with these when they were on deep clearance.

I hope Schwinn keeps these on the market for a long time. They would work beautifully on a beach cruiser. They made a low end mountain bike respond more like a skinny tired road bike. This was one of the best purchases of my life!

The review will be updated if there are any issues with punctures, tread wear, or sidewall failure. I recommend buying... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Good price, but this is an average, Innova brand tire, May 6, 2016

First thing you need to know, you will not receive a Schwinn brand tire if you order this product. You will receive an Innova brand tire in a box that says Schwinn on it. Innova is a Taiwan company founded in 1995, not affiliated with Schwinn as far as I can tell.

The second thing to know is that the tire comes all coiled up in a small box, which to be fair, is what the pictures show.

Lastly, the tire is worth the low price, but did not seem to me to be the quality of better branded tires. The rubber doesn't seem as high quality and the tread is not as aggressive as others.

Had I been buying this for myself, I would not have been happy with any of these things. As it turns out, I am repairing a tire for my neighbor, who will never notice the difference. Even so, I would have returned this tire had I not thought it was at least average. It is. It is certainly a fine tire for casual riding, which is what my neighbor does.

But the advertising... Read more
