3.0 out of 5 stars Ehhh..., September 1, 2013
Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Schwinn Boy's Scorcher 16-Inch Bicycle, Orange (Sports)
This is a really nice looking bike. However the problem is, its soooo heavy!!! After the training wheels are taken off, its really heavy for a kid to hold up. Often times it just gets dropped to the ground. With a huge thud, and in a short amount of time, the rubber handle bar grips are worn off on the sides from hitting the ground. Most recently one of the hand brakes broke off from a crash to the ground. This bike needs a kick stand. The pegs on the back look fun, but its much too heavy to be a trick bike. The pegs are unnecessary. Think about how heavy this bike is before your purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overly Heavy Ridiculous Design, March 5, 2014
This review is from: Schwinn Boy's Scorcher 16-Inch Bicycle, Orange (Sports)
Our 5yr son refuses to ride it because its so heavy and awkward. Its weighs more than good adult mountain bikes. The extra pieces of steel tubing are just ridiculous and this poor designs makes the top tube really high, so its in their way.

I will never buy a Schwinn product again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Bike, July 20, 2014

I'm giving it a star because I guess I have to give it something. The bike is not only heavy, but useless. First, I had to call the company to send me a new seat lock because the one that it came with would not lock. That caused me to wait a week after buying it before my child could even sit on it. Next, and probably the worst issue is the engineer who designed it, designed it so the pedals are tightened turning them to the left and not the right. Therefore, when the child pedals forward, the pedal turns to the right causing them to fall off. Can't ride a bike when the pedal falls off every 100 feet. Finally, there is also no room to raise the seat. So if your child grows, get rid of the bike. The bike cannot grow with him. You get a year out of watching him ride around and you hanging out to put the pedal back on. Save yourself the money and the hassles. The bike is horrible. I wished I listened to the reviews. I thought a bulky bike would be good. That is the LEAST of its issues.
