It is comfortable and a great height. I wanted the look of the cruisers, but wanted to be able to keep up with my husband while biking. This bike fits the bill perfectly - it has the mud guards and the cute back rack, but it can keep up too! There are a lot of gears, I don't change them too much, but I do like having them instead of just 1 or 3 options like a cruiser would offer. I've ridden this bike to work (~ 7 miles one way) and it was a great ride. The seat is comfortable too. I would highly recommend this bike if you want a cute, sophisticated bike that can ride well too.Just know that you will have to take this to a bike shop unless you're a professional. It pretty much comes assembled, so my husband put it together, seemed easy enough - unfortunately he put the handle bars on backwards (looked normal to me! lol) and the fender in the front kept rubbing on the tires - also the gears felt weird and it was hard to pedal --... I love it! I have been looking for a comfy crusier style bike but versitale enough to go from trails to off roading. I biked 1/2 way up my super steep hill with no problem. The set up wasn't too hard. I have never worked on a bike before and with a few tools I was able to but on the front tire, pedals and handle bars. The seat is very comfortable. I bought the bike for her because of the good reviews. The additional things I had to do with the bike should not, in my opinion, have been necessary. Here is a list:1. Replaced the freewheel cog set in back. When we rode together there was a distinctive "click" when she rode in 4th gear. The root cause was a bad sprocket tooth. Our bike shop sold me a Shimano freewheel that eliminated the problem when installed. 2. Replaced the rear tire. The tire was out-of-round and the bike sort of hopped down the road. I have never seen a bike tire that bad. 3. Added a wire fender stay (support) to align the rear fender to its wheel and keep it off the tire. The not-round tire scraped against the fender going "ffft - ffft - ffft" because there was so little room between fender and tire. The fender laid over to one side too, with no hope of setting it straight with all that unsupported... Read more |
